Meeting at 7:00 a.m. every Wednesday of the year at DeWitt’s Prairie Creek Golf Course on Webb Road

Press Release

A “Spirit Rock” has been placed at the DeWitt Junior High School as part of a program by the DeWitt Kiwanis to promote junior high positive recognition.  Students and parents can celebrate birthdays, honors, special events and recognitions for their DJHS student by painting the rock which resides on the right as one enters DJHS from the north off Herbison Road.

Reservations can be made by emailing dewitt.kiwanis@yahoo.com.  For each day reserved a message can be placed on the rock for $15 for the entire rock or $10 for each side.  The web site allows payment by credit card.  Participants supply their own spray paint to create the 24 hour message that can be applied beginning at 5:30 PM the day prior to the reserved date.

The DeWitt Kiwanis has served community youth programs since 1985 contributing over $50,000 in scholarships to DeWitt Seniors, Dictionaries for all third graders, sponsorship of the DJHS Builders Club and the DHS Key Club.  Additionally the local club contributes to countless individual student activities as well as national and international programs that benefit youth.

*The DeWitt Kiwanis has plans to add Spirit Rocks at the Furstenau Kindergarten Center, Scott School, Shavey Road School and Herbison Woods School soon.
